Supervision with focus on the therapist development (POTT Supervision)

  • Duration: Varies
  • Description: This supervision is centered on person of the therapist factors. The process starts with learning about the POTT model and identifying the signature theme. Ongoing work consists of case presentations of current or past cases in which person-of-the-therapist factors (including but not limited to the signature theme) played a significant role. This supervision, although maybe counted for licensure (depending on the licensing boards of the State and the profession), is considered complementary to the primary supervision offered by a clinical supervisor. Having a clinical supervisor overviewing the supervisee’s caseload allows for this supervision to focus on the clinician themselves.
  • Audience and settings: This supervision is offered to trainees in clinical programs, graduates of clinical programs working on licensure, and licensed clinicians looking for ongoing supervision. To enroll in this supervision, unlicensed individuals must have a clinical supervisor responsible for their caseload.
